Description
This bench-mounted apparatus is used to investigate the phenomena of dynamic cam bounce between a cam and follower. It consists of a cam mounted on a shaft. The shaft is driven by a variable speed electric motor with electronic control unit. A follower is attached to a carriage which runs on a low
friction linear guide. The carriage mass can be altered by the addition of extra weights.
An LVDT is used to measure follower displacement. Shaft speed measured by digital tachometer.
Software to run on PC. Set of cams, weights and necessary tools are supplied.
