Description
A four cylinder balancing machine used to investigate the balancing of a four cylinder engine. This bench mounted apparatus consists of four cylinder units driven by a variable speed motor with a precision control unit. The cylinder chassis has resilient mounts which allow the unit to vibrate. The crankshaft is arranged so that the relative angular position of the cranks can be set at will for two and four stroke cycles. The cylinders can be set at any angle in the range +/- 90°. Thus any four cylinder engine may be examined on the apparatus; inline, vee and flat four configurations as well as other arrangements.
